About meI'm a searcher, learner, path finder

Hello, hej, hallo :)

My name is Susanne, and I offer guided mindful practices and self-exploration based on Zen Coaching to individuals and groups.

My journey into Zen coaching began in January 2022, when I had just moved to Sweden. With a deep longing to reconnect and overcome the lockdown caused loneliness, a card from my former Buddhist centre led me to search for a similar place - that's how I found Kåre Landfald and the Ängsbacka community.

In 2024, I have completed the full Zen coaching training (20 days) and continue to participate in in-depths and advanced seminars to learn more about non-violent communication (NVC) and trauma dynamics, internal family system (IFS) and family constellations which have accompanied my path since many years.

My background is in Psychology and Human Studies. I am a Mental Health First Aider but not an educated therapist. I see the coaching relationship as an authentic partnership between a seeker and a guide, and myself more as a professional friend than a person that has all answers - find some in the FAQ.

In my IT job, I enjoy working with Xperience Design and people from all over the world. Originally from Germany, I love discovering new territories. Currently based in Malmö, Sweden, my nomadic lifestyle has led me to live in Switzerland and fall in love with Estonia. Read more about me and my journey below.

You are warmly invited to get to know each other and see if it's a match :)

My Personality Type What the 16 Personalities test says about me

INFJ Advocate

That's me, an INFJ Advocate

Advocates are quiet visionaries, often serving as inspiring and tireless idealists.

They tend to approach life with deep thoughtfulness and imagination. Their inner vision, personal values, and a quiet, principled version of humanism guide them in all things. For these compassionate personalities, success doesn’t come from money or status but from seeking fulfillment, helping others, and being a force for good in the world.

INFJs - Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging - shouldn’t be mistaken for idle dreamers. People with this personality type care about integrity, and they’re rarely satisfied until they’ve done what they know to be right. Conscientious to the core, they move through life with a clear sense of their values, and they aim to never lose sight of what truly matters – not according to other people or society at large but according to their own wisdom and intuition.

For these altruistic personalities, jobs that involve helping and connecting with people can be deeply satisfying. It’s no surprise, then, that many INFJs gravitate toward work as counselors, therapists, psychologists, social workers, teachers, yoga instructors, and spiritual leaders.

    Buddhist Psychology

For many years, the European Institut for applied Buddhism (EIAB) in Waldbröl, Germany, has been my spiritual home. This non-profit organization was founded by the honored Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thầy) to bring Buddhism into the modern world - to people from all walks of life to be able to apply it, to help reduce and transform your own and others suffering.

Between 2008-2012 I have joined several Days of Mindfulness and annual retreats guided by Thầy and monks, nuns and dharma teachers from the local community and the French Plum Village monastry.

Teachings in Buddhist psychology comprised transforming anger and depression, navigating psychological crises, helping to heal and nourish healthy communication in families, relationships and friendships.

Mindful walking, sitting in silence, sharing in groups and working meditation is an important part of the daily practice, to connect with your Self in the present moment.

    Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong

At the age of 17, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Qi Gong. Fascinated by the possibility of influencing the flow of energy in the body with simple movements, my curiosity about Asian philosophy and meditative exercises was awakened.

I soon discovered the elegance of Taijiquan and its beautiful choreography and attended many courses with my former flatmate - who became a professional teacher and runs classes since then Qi Gong in Lich.

While Qi Gong and Tai Chi teached me permeability, flexibility and softness combined with inner and outer centricity, my journey continued with hatha yoga to relax my mind and ease back pain.

20 years ago I discovered Iyengar Yoga which focuses on precision and attention to detail while holding poses for lengthy periods of time. Regular practice increases physical and mental strength, deepens self-awareness and helps to align body and mind.

    Human Studies & Psychology

Being fascinated by art and design, my university studies followed that path, I hold an M.A. in Art History. My interest in cultures led to European Ethnology, my search for what makes us individuals resulted in studying developmental and cognitive psychology.

My longing to experience methods based on the connection between body, mind and emotions led me to many teachers - these women had a particularly strong influence on me:

1995-99: Nitya Mihm, Germany - Biodynamical massage (Gerda Boyesen), groups and workshops for women based on human psychology, mindfulness, buddhist teachings, empathic sharing, 5Rhythms dance (Gabriele Roth), Hatha yoga, conscious dreaming, archetypes and tarot

2019-2020: Irena Brehm Tüscher, Switzerland, IST-Institut - Inner child work based on transactional analysis and trauma therapy

Nov. 2024: Certified (online course) Mental Health First Aider (EMG)
